Boum ! Pan pan ! Vlan ! Préparez-vous à être entraîné·e dans un tourbillon de monologues qui fusent, de costumes chatoyants et de gestes théâtraux. Dans C.A.T.C.H. (Coalition Against Type Casting Horror), Aminata Demba et Aïcha Cissé entrent dans le ring pour le combat de leur vie. Dans cet espace qui est le leur pour quelques instants, elles tentent de se libérer, en tant que comédiennes et femmes noires, des multiples carcans qu’on leur impose.
Boom! Bang bang! Wow! Prepare to be drawn into a whirlwind of flowing monologues, shimmering costumes and theatrical gestures. In CATCH (Coalition Against Type Casting Horror), Aminata Demba and Aïcha Cissé enter the ring for the fight of their lives. In this space which is theirs for only a few moments, they try to free themselves, as black actresses and women, from the multiple constraints imposed on them.
In a production by Frédérique Lecomte, with whom they have already worked for Dis-moi wie ik ben, the show with which they achieved their breakthrough, they are now tackling characters and scenes from the history of theater and popular culture. Lightly, they turn themes such as repertoire, performance and models upside down.
Demba and Cissé swing their weight around and join forces to tear themselves away from the dominant mechanisms and thought patterns, within the context of the performing arts and beyond.
The duo convince us in Coalition Against Type Casting Horror (CATCH) to accompany them in their experiences. An exercise in which they relentlessly shed light on important questions, in a bittersweet show that overflows with the joy of playing.
